There are well known disadvantages to using Silicone Tube and Hose in many applications.
Firstly, there are many chemicals which silicone rubber reacts with, causing contamination of the product in the hose, and eventual breakdown of the rubber and leakage through the hose wall.
Secondly, steam sterilisation through silicone rubber hose and tube has a limited application before this steam degrades the rubber, and replacement is required.
The answer is to line the silicone tube with a liner material which overcomes all of these problems - PTFE
In the past, the problem has been that a smoothbore PTFE tube liner was too stiff. This problem has been resolved by a unique PTFE tube design, which has now been incorporated in a new and revolutionary hose design - PHARMALEX

PHARMALEX has a PTFE tube liner which has a smoothbore inner surface but a convoluted outer surface, designed to generate a very flexible, but smoothbore PTFE tube. This tube then has a clear platinum-cured silicone rubber cover on to the tube to give a glass-smooth outer surface.
This combination generates the Pharmalex product, which solves the problems of silicone tube and hose, and provides a technically superior and longer lasting alternative.
For applications where higher pressures may be required, the Pharmalex product can be supplied with a stainless steel wire braid over the PTFE tube, and a white silicone rubber outer cover - this product is named PHARMALINE
