Autoflon PTFE Lined Flexible Hose-Grades and Specifications
Introduction - Autoflon is a Special Purpose, fully convoluted PTFE lined hose product which was developed specifically for increased flexibility combined with lightness in weight.
These properties are particularly required in motorsport applications, where Autoflon is now mainly used.
Design and Construction
Autoflon includes a tightly convoluted, lightweight antistatic PTFE inner tube (Autoflon TO, Tube Only) normally supplied with an external braid of either stainless steel wire (Autoflon SS) or black, Aramid Fibre braid (Autoflon AM)

Higher pressure ratings are sometimes possible, dependant upon the application - consult Aflex for details
Temperature and pressure
Autoflon SS - Usable from -70°C (-94°F) to +230°C (+448°F)
Autoflon AM - Usable from -45°C (-49°F) to +170°C (+338°F)
For both hose grades, for temperatures above 130°C, 266°F, the maximum working pressures listed must be reduced by 1% per every 1°C above 130°C (1.8°F above 266°F)
Alternative Design Options, End Fittings and Assemblies
No alternative Autoflon Hose design options are offered, except for very large quantities. A range of end fittings is not available for Autoflon Hose grades - it is usual for customers to develop their own end fitting systems. Aflex Hose can, however, offer to supply assembled hoses, or specific end fitting and assembly systems, to special order.
